Roberto Cipresso: a journey through wine, from Tuscany to the world
Roberto Cipresso moves from Bassano del Grappa to Montalcino, where he begins his career as a winemaker, collaborating with some of the most renowned producers such as Case Basse and Poggio Antico.
He begins his collaboration with the historic winery Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona, where he contributes to the growth and development of the company.
Roberto Cipresso founded "La Fiorita" together with his two friends from Bassano del Grappa, Miki Biasion and Tiziano Siviero. The first "Quadratura del Cerchio" is produced, an iconic label in Roberto's research journey.
From the restoration of an old Tuscan farmhouse, Poggio al Sole is born, a farmhouse immersed in the nature of Montalcino. On the property, there is a small "Cru" vineyard of Brunello di Montalcino.
The ambitious Achaval Ferrer project takes shape with the first trip to Argentina. In Italy, Winemaking is founded, a group offering oenological and agronomic consultancy, where Roberto works as part of a team of professionals.
On the occasion of the Jubilee, Roberto Cipresso creates a special Cuvée for Pope John Paul II.
Winemaking grows and evolves into Winecircus: a laboratory-winery that collaborates with the most important universities, with the aim of advancing research and development.
Winecircus is born, the first wine incubator in Italy.
★ He is named Best italian oenologist. He also publishes his first book, The Novel of Wine, in collaboration with Giovanni Negri and Stefano Milioni.
★ "Men’s Health" magazine names him “Man of the year” in the “Food” category. His second book, "Vinosophy", is also published.
